Leadership Academy Pillar: ETHICAL
Mike Turner and Kevin Cady leveraged leadership experience in multifaceted roles for both the U.S. military and private industry with the goal to help students learn what it meant to be an authentic leader. Mike and Kevin drew from best-selling authors and personal examples of concepts in order to facilitate discussion and help everyone understand how to stay true to yourself and your integrity as a leader—even in the most challenging of circumstances!
Mike Turner is a retired Engineering and Operations leaders with a wealth of experience in manufacturing companies ranging from small, privately-owned operations to large, publicly-owned enterprises. Among the corporations he led cross-functional teams for are: Precision Castparts, OECO, and SAPA Anodizing. Prior to working in private industry, Mr. Turner served as an Army Officer for twenty years. Throughout his various roles both in the U.S. and abroad, he has championed constant performance review and continual improvement that resulted in transformational personal development for countless team members. He is a graduate of Iowa State University (B.S.).
Kevin Cady serves as Senior Operations Manager at Hoffman Construction where he has held a variety of roles over the past 24 years. Prior to joining Hoffman Construction, he worked as a Project Manager for The Walter Group and served as a Combat Engineer Officer in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Cady is passionate about mentoring and developing the next generation of leaders. In addition to serving on the OSU Engineering Leadership Academy Advisory Board, he is also on the Board of Directors for the non-profit, Mentors360, as well as the Sherwood Youth Lacrosse Association. He is a graduate of Oregon State University (B.S.) and the University of Washington (MBA).
